Before you start
- A plan and trial state that include the experience, quota, and event features you intend to use. Premium includes automated progression and quotas; access still depends on community configuration.
- Owner or Discord server owner access to the relevant settings, with staff award and event-host permissions reviewed.
- A working announcement channel, approved Roblox event location, and non-owner test members eligible to attend. A working Roblox connection is also needed if progression should change ranks.
Confirm current plan availability and setup requirements before making changes.
1. Give XP and quotas different jobs
Training Company uses XP to recognize accumulated training and a weekly quota to measure recent participation. An example training event awards 10 XP and 2 quota points to each eligible attendee. These are illustrative values, not prescribed defaults or the values in the demo screenshots.
If a test member starts with 20 XP and 0 quota points, an eligible attendee award of exactly 10 XP and 2 quota points would leave 30 XP and 2 quota points, provided no other awards or configured bonuses apply. Record your own starting balances and expected awards before testing.
2. Configure experience and rank thresholds
- Open Settings → Experience and choose the member-facing name for your XP system.
- Choose Total experience to calculate progress from all accumulated XP, or Current rank to measure progress between the current and next rank requirements. Save the settings.
- Open Manage → Ranks and review thresholds and qualification requirements for the ranks eligible for automated progression.
- Confirm automatic progression is enabled and included by the plan before expecting a Roblox rank change. Review staff award permissions and the Roblox connection.
The settings preview does not change member data. An XP award also does not guarantee promotion: suspension, blacklist rules, qualifications, rank boundaries, and the current Roblox state can affect progression.
3. Set the quota schedule and award limits
- Open Settings → Quota and enable quota checks.
- Choose your interval in days and a valid IANA time zone. For a weekly example, use 7 days; Australia/Brisbane is an example time zone, not a requirement for every community.
- Select the logging channel and set the award limits for each staff or API actor type. Save the settings.
- Review rank-level quota requirements and staff permissions so hosts know what participants need to earn.
A lifetime XP balance and a current quota balance answer different questions. Avoid manually resetting or compensating points before checking the configured period and existing awards.
4. Define a training event and its awards
- Open Settings → Events and select the announcement channels, approved locations, and proof requirements.
- Create a reusable training type. Configure attendee XP and quota awards, then set any distinct host or co-host awards intentionally.
- Save the type before creating the test event. Use the dashboard or /host create and confirm the type, location, host, and Discord announcement.
Each event snapshots its type configuration when created. Editing the reusable type afterward does not rewrite that event's awards. Check the event you actually created when investigating a mismatch.
5. Finish with checked attendance and verify the result
- Record the test participants' starting XP and quota balances. Check their account IDs and eligibility.
- Run the activity, then use the event finish action or /host finish to supply checked attendance and any required proof.
- Confirm the event finished, inspect the attendee record, and compare each eligible participant's profile balances with the expected awards. Review available audit entries.
- If a progression threshold was crossed, also check the actual Roblox rank and any configured Discord role update.
Active suspensions withhold event XP and quota awards for hosts, co-hosts, and attendees. The dashboard also rejects restricted attendees. A finished event with no award for a suspended person is not a reason to finish it again or manually bypass the restriction.
This workflow tracks recorded community participation. It does not claim to measure every minute someone spends playing Roblox. Use event attendance and deliberate staff awards for the activity your community defines.
Troubleshooting
- The event finished but points are missing
Inspect the event's saved award configuration, participant eligibility and suspension state, starting balances, and audit records. Check the existing result before retrying or issuing compensation.
Read the troubleshooting or setup details- XP changed but the Roblox rank did not
Check enabled progression, plan access, thresholds, qualifications, rank restrictions, and the Roblox connection. Resolve the reported prerequisite rather than repeatedly issuing promotions.
Read the troubleshooting or setup details- Quota results arrive at the wrong time or staff cannot award points
Review the IANA time zone, interval, logging channel, action permission, and per-actor award limit. Setting an exact balance can require a higher permission than adding points.

Next steps for your community
Check the test result in your own community before extending the workflow to more members. Demo data helps you explore the interface; it does not perform live Roblox or Discord operations.
